# Check whether an email reply was sent and delivered

> Email conversations show who each message is from and who it went to, and every reply shows whether it was sent, delivered or failed.

Email conversations show who each message is from and who it went to, and every reply shows whether it was sent, delivered or failed.

## Before you send

Above the reply box you see "To" (the customer) and "From" (your support address). When replies go out from Aide's shared sending address because your domain isn't verified yet, a note explains that customer replies still come back to your support address.

## After you send

| Status | What it means |
| - | - |
| Sending… | The reply is on its way. You can keep working. |
| Sent | The email provider accepted it. |
| Delivered | The customer's mail server accepted it. |
| Failed to send | It couldn't be sent or delivered. The reason shows with it, and the message is outlined in red. |

## When a reply fails

* **The provider refused it, no mailbox is connected, or the provider is unavailable:** the reason shows on the message. Temporary outages are retried automatically before a reply is marked failed.
* **It bounced after being accepted:** for example the address no longer exists or the mailbox is full. The reply changes to "Failed to send" with the reason.
* **It never reached Aide** (your connection dropped, for example): choose Retry to send the same text again, or Discard to remove it.

For a Gmail inbox, the reason can also be that Gmail access was removed or Gmail's daily sending limit was reached. See [Connect a Gmail inbox](/channels/gmail-inbox).
