Shopify stores can choose and pay for their Aide plan through Shopify. Plans, trials and AI reply charges appear on the store’s Shopify bill, with no separate card or invoice.

Who is billed through Shopify

Any workspace with a Shopify store connected and no paid card plan. Workspaces already paying by card keep that until their plan ends.

Choose or change a plan

Choosing a plan in Aide’s Shopify admin app, or with “Choose a plan in Shopify” in Settings > Billing in Aide, opens Shopify’s plan page, where the store owner starts a trial or picks a plan. Aide picks up the new plan as soon as they return to the app, and within a few minutes otherwise. Once you’re billed through Shopify, plan changes, cancellation and invoices are handled in your Shopify admin; “Manage in Shopify” takes you there. A cancellation scheduled in Shopify shows in Aide with its end date. Owners and admins manage billing.

AI replies

Each plan includes the same number of AI replies as when paying by card. Nothing is charged to Shopify until those are used up: only replies over the allowance are charged, at the plan’s overage rate, and Aide still pauses AI replies at the plan’s overage cap. What counts as an AI reply is the same as for every plan; see the article on billable AI replies.

Payment problems

If Shopify freezes the subscription over a store billing issue, Aide shows the plan as payment due and pauses AI replies after 7 days, the same as a failed card payment. Unfreezing it in Shopify restores the plan.

Moving or uninstalling

  • Reinstalling into another Aide workspace moves the store’s Shopify plan with it, and the old workspace falls back to Free. If the new workspace already pays by card, the store’s Shopify plan is cancelled instead, so you’re never billed twice.
  • Uninstalling the Aide app ends the Shopify subscription immediately and the workspace falls back to Free. Chats from that store then go to your team instead of getting AI replies.
