Connect
- Go to Channels > Email and choose “Sign in with Google” (or “Add address” if you already have one).
- Sign in as the support inbox. Google shows a screen saying the app isn’t verified: choose “Advanced”, then “Go to Aide”.
- On Google Workspace, an admin may need to allow Aide first.
What comes in
- New mail arrives as it lands. If a notice from Gmail goes missing, Aide still picks the mail up within the hour.
- Only mail from the moment you connect is imported, so Aide never answers older messages.
- Sender rules, automated-mail detection, bounce and auto-reply filtering and threading work as for forwarded mail. Mail in Gmail’s Spam or Trash, drafts and chats aren’t imported.
Replying
- Teammate and AI replies are sent through your Gmail account, in the customer’s thread. Attachments can be up to 25 MB per reply.
- When a teammate replies to a customer in Gmail itself, on a conversation Aide already has, the reply shows in Aide under their name and Aide stops replying to that conversation.
- If a reply can’t be sent, the conversation says why, for example “Gmail access was removed. Reconnect Gmail and resend.” or “Gmail’s daily sending limit was reached.” Brief Gmail outages are retried automatically.
